LeapBorder (“the Service”) respects your privacy and complies with applicable laws. This policy explains what information we collect and how we use, store, and share it.
1. Information we collect
Account data: your email and password (stored encrypted); when you sign in with Google, your Google account name, email, and profile photo.
Profile data: name, username, nationality, spoken languages, category, visa/residence status, photos, and a 30-second Visual ID video — the information you enter or upload.
Identity verification data: if you choose to verify, your ID/passport and a selfie are processed by a trusted third-party verification processor. The Service stores only the outcome (approved/declined) and minimal related data.
Usage data: access logs, device/browser information, push notification tokens, messages, and referral relationships.
2. How we use it
To provide and operate the Service: profile matching, casting connections, visa/journey guidance, and notifications.
For trust & safety: identity verification, fraud and abuse prevention, and dispute handling.
For customer support and to improve the Service.
3. Third-party processors
We rely on the following processors to run the Service: authentication, database, and storage (Supabase); hosting (Vercel); sign-in (Google); identity verification (a third-party verification provider); AI advisor responses (Google Gemini) and search grounding; and email delivery (Resend).
Each processor handles data only as needed to provide the Service. We do not sell your personal information.
4. Retention & deletion
We retain personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes above or as required by law, then delete it without undue delay.
You may request deletion of your account; we will delete related data except where retention is legally required.
5. Your rights
You may request access to, correction or deletion of, or restriction of processing of your personal data, and withdraw consent, at any time.

6. Minors
We do not knowingly collect data from children under 14. Where a minor uses the Service, a legal guardian's consent may be required.
7. International transfer & security
To operate the Service, your information may be stored and processed on processors' servers located outside your country.
We apply reasonable safeguards, including encryption in transit and access controls.
8. Changes & contact
We may update this policy to reflect legal or service changes and will announce material changes in the Service.
